This was a really cool class because I got to learn a lot about things I can use right now to help me in school, work, and when I become a teacher. We learned about Google engine, calendar, docs, spread sheets, chat, and presentations. Our homework assignment was to do the collaborative educational websites assignment. This is cool because once every student puts the information on the main document, I can have a great list of websites to check out as a teacher.
This technology is important for me to know because I can use all of these in my life right now. I can use google docs and chat on any group assignments I have in class and I currently am using it for my work whenever we need to create any sales scripts or information. Google calendar is great because I have a lot of things I need to keep organized and it will help me make calendars for all of the different things in my life that I need to do (personal, school and work) .
Google is such a great FREE tool to use in our classrooms. It is going to allow me to have some great teaching material for my students. I can have my students use Google docs for fitness (as an example) and have every student put in 2 ways they can exercise. I can also create a presentation for them to teach with, and create lesson plans in the spreadsheet.
